King Fahad Medical City
The option concept starts by understanding the context of the King Fahad Medical City and its strong architecture, made of clean and elegant lime stone cladding. The key idea is to integrate in this scenario a very simple, sober and modern building, made of glass and aluminum framework, with a minimal and very contemporary approach, that stands out in the medical city, respecting at the same time its surrounding context.
The podium of the building is made of glass, without visible frameworks, simulating a heavy mass of the offices over a transparent and light ground floor, with strong visual impact.
The Medical City logo was taken as part of the design approach, being an architectural component of the building, used in printed glass or in sculptural elements, integrated in the elevations.
